Situation looks bad in Zimbabwe

It appears that the crisis in Zimbabwe has had a very negative impact on the wildlife there too. Just read a sobering account from a conservationist working there. Go here to read it:

The situation in Zim is very sad.

You hear all sorts of stories. I have heard that as a result of food shortages the people are allowed 1 kg of bush meat per week, which they obviously hunt for in the reserves, how this is and how controlled and how true this is I don't know.

Congratulations on your 300th post. Awesome.

Much of what is happening in Africa is frightening. It seems there is no solution either. You know like where did all that aid money go?

Have a great day. :)

What a great blog you have. I found this through your comments on African Wildlife. I'll be adding this one to my followers list. 300 posts that's fantastic. The bush meat trade is a bad business too many species are being wiped out because of it. It needs to be stopped or somehow severley controlled. Zimbabwe is a situation that is politically difficult and violent. The example of Uganda stands still as testament to what happens to wildlife. Congratulations.
