Like the mainland clouded leopard, the Bornean Clouded Leopard prefers tropical and subtropical forests for its habitat. It is evolutionarily adapted to survive best in such an environment. Found exclusively on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra, its numbers are estimated to be eight thousand and five thousands respectively in the two places. However, the cat's secretive nature makes it difficult to validate these figures as being entirely accurate!
